So, you'd like to adopt a friend for life? To take in a previously homeless 4-footed friend and give it back the kind of life it deserves by providing a warm, loving home can be a very rewarding experience. It truly IS for life and should not be taken lightly or done impulsively. When you adopt a young animal, you are making a 10, 12 or even 15 year commitment.
Please be aware that AFL requires ALL adopters to be at least 21 years
of age. Proof of age will be required at time of adoption.
The first step in the adoption process is to fill out the proper Canine or Feline Adoption Form.

Feline Adoption Form.
This will be automatically forwarded to our Adoption Teams who will carefully review your request. Usually they will be able to respond to your application within 48 hours. Because we want the best match and fit possible for the dog or cat, as well as the best match for your family, many factors are taken into account during the adoption process.
After the initial contact and determination that the pet might be a good match for your family, the foster home will contact you and arrange a visit so you can interact with the pet in a home atmosphere. This is one of the best ways to observe how your new friend interacts with you and your family. If it is determined that you ARE the right fit for the animal, adoption papers will be prepared, the fee paid, and arrangements will be made to transfer the newly adopted pet to you. If the pet is a kitten or a puppy, you may have to wait until the animal is spayed or neutered before taking it home, if that has not yet been done.
Once you get your new best friend home and acclimated to your family, all that is left to do is enjoy the companionship and fall in love. One of our volunteers will make follow up contact to make sure that the transition is going well and offer assistance if there are any problems.
Thank you for choosing Adopt a Friend for Life to find your new family member! We are happy to assist you in building lifelong friendships, 4 paws at a time!
